My Fav. 2-ingredient Dip

chili cheese dip with corn chips

This is the easiest and most yummy dip recipe I’ve ever made – always a hit both at home and at parties.  If you keep the ingredients on hand, you can whip it up at a moment’s notice and always feel like a homemaking rock star!

Easy Chili Cream Cheese Dip

Serving Size:
Depends on who is eating! haha
Time:
less than 5 minutes
Difficulty:
EASY!!!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) block of softened cream cheese
  • 1 (15 oz) can of high quality chili ( I like Hormel or Dennison )  {Jennifer here: I used a can of wal-mart brand hot dog chili – which was thinner – and actually liked it better than when I used the “good” chili.}

Directions

  1. Warm ingredients until blended in a pot on the stove or in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Serve with corn chips (Fritos).

How’s that for easy?  And trust me… It’s addictive – I’ve made it twice in 4 days and can’t wait to make it again!

PS: I have to tell you the story of this dip recipe. When my son was in his always-hungry-football-playing-teens, one of his always-hungry-football-playing friends was spending the night with us. They had been snacking all night, but this friend continued going back and forth, pacing around, looking into our pantry. He finally came to the den and said, “Mrs. Jennifer, do you have any cream cheese?” And I did. Then he said, “Mrs. Jennifer, do you have any chili?” And we did. So with a chuckle, I got the ingredients out for him, and he is the one who made the dip (the first time). We ate it all in a matter of minutes and actually sent the boys back to the store that very night for more ingredients… and we whipped it up again! haha
