Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins – A Fall Favorite!

Chocolate chip pumpkin muffins

These muffins are one of those things that, for our household, signify the arrival of fall.  No matter what the weather is, it’s fall when we make the first pot of soup and the first batch of Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins.

My sister passed this recipe on to me about 20 years ago.  I think it was originally a Pumpkin bread recipe, and someone brilliantly added the chocolate chips.  Then someone decided to make them into muffins. A star was born.  Hope you enjoy these as much as we do…

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins

Serving Size:
24 muffins
Time:
less than 30 min
Difficulty:
EASY

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cup flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ Tbs. pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ Tbs. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  •  2 eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin
  •  ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients.
  2. Melt butter then add eggs and pumpkin.
  3. Pour this mixture into dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Add chocolate chips.
  5. Bake at 350 until done.  (Don’t you just hate that?  I say “until done” because it is different depending upon the size muffins you are making.  I have faith that you’ll know when it’s done.)

This also bakes well in a loaf pan.

Welcome to Fall, y’all!
