(Butterfinger edition)
This post was originally entitled “Cheater-Cheater-Ice-Cream-Eater” – because that’s exactly what this is… and it’s delicious! In case any of you are short on time and have offered to bring the “home made ice cream” to a gathering, I thought I’d offer you this little secret. Instead of “home-made” it’s “made-at-home.” I promise… no one will complain one bit! Enjoy~
Homemade Butterfinger Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 galon of good vanilla ice cream
- 24 snack size or 8 regular size Butterfinger candy bars
Directions (Keep in mind: Homemade = made at home. Right?)
- Set the ice cream out to soften a little.
- Crush the candy bars using a blender or a meat tenderizer.
- Mix the candy into the ice cream.
- Return to the freezer and let it freeze again.
Voila! Home prepared, made, created, however you want to say it, ice cream. Easy and delicious!
If you want it to look extra homemade, you can even transfer it to an ice cream freezer canister. (grin) If anyone asks you if you made your ice cream yourself, you can honestly say yes. 😉
My mind is swirling with ideas for this. Basically, any candy or cookie would work, as well as caramel or chocolate drizzle stirred in. Oreos, Snickers, chocolate chip cookies, Heath Bars, M & M’s, Reeces Pieces, Peppermint Patties… Anything Dairy Queen can put in a blizzard, you can put into a gallon of vanilla ice cream.
With this ice cream hack, I’m proud to be a “Cheater, Cheater, Ice-Cream Eater!” Enjoy!!
